Iceland has the highest general price level among the Nordic countries. In 2024, Iceland's GDP-based price level index was 152.9 (EU-27 = 100), followed by Denmark at 130.8, Norway at 124.4, Finland at 120.1, and Sweden at 117.6. For consumer goods specifically, Iceland's price level index was 172.7, and for food alone 143.9 — meaning food prices are roughly 44% above the EU average. Norway's food prices (131.2) were slightly lower than Iceland's.
